Hi fellow Pilots!
So, I think everyone will have a time where he will learn a lesson prayed by others the hard way. I just had one of those moments.

So, the time has come and I have arrived in Japan. I took the Narita Express to my place to stay and thus the adventure starts! I am very tired as I haven’t slept so far but enough hyped up to write about japan.
After a quick nap and shower – which was definitely required due the about 16 hour flight via Istambul – Continue reading
So, Fast Track is a new feature introduced in RouterOS 6.29. Its quite nice! With that, you can forward packages in a way that they are not handled by the Linux Kernel which greatly improves the throughput of your router.
You can activate Fast Track with that:
/ip firewall filter add chain=forward action=fasttrack-connection connection-state=established,related
Let me tell you a little story about Japan.
So, soon (in about a Month) I start my third journey to Japan, more precisely to Tokyo! I will Blog about Japan and the Journey and now, I will tell you some outlooks to what you can expect to see. Or read.
So far I have only been in and around Tokyo, though the plan for the next trip would be visit some other prefectures. And of course, Tokyo Game Show!
What do I think of Japan so far? I have only been there for 4 Weeks, and that split into two vacations of each 2 weeks.
If you are running a Plesk, commercially, for fun or whatever other reason, this information might be for you.
When you want to order a certificate from a CA, there are now several CA’s that stop taking orders from CSRs that are using SHA1 as signature algorithm. Google also wants to accelerate the end of SHA1 by stopping marking a connection as secure if a certificate is used that is signed with SHA1. You can read more about that here.
Sadly, Plesk generates the CSR with SHA1 by default.
So, it is well known that more and more film studios are looking into VR business, while for example Oculus VR already has its very own studio called Storystudio. Legendary Pictures just announced on ComicCon 2015 a partnership with Google and created Legendary VR, a studio focusing on Virtual Reality experiences!
They did not only announce it, they also released their very own Google Cardboard simply called “Legendary VR”. They plan to distribute over 50’000 Google Cardboards during the duration of ComicCon:
OpenSSL just released their statement to the newly discovered OpenSSL vulnerability:
This is a guide on how to get RouterOS from Mikrotik that is able to deliver Gigabit throughput, without having to buy expensive hardware! As I had a little struggle setting this up, I wanted to share this information and workarounds with people so it might get easier for you.
(Disclaimer: I am used and like Mikrotik with its RouterOS. Next to that it is a European Company. <- NSA Paranoid me speaking)
I finally got around to get a fancy new ISP at home that delivers a gigabit synchronous (1 Gbit/s Up-/Download)! For those living in Switzerland, the ISP is Init7 with its product called Fiber7.
While it is still expensive to rent static IPv4 addresses for your home (and will probably get more and more expensive over time), you get a free static /48 IPv6 network yay!
So, I want to start writing from time to time, just to share my thoughts with the world. Let’s see… What is this blog actually about?
I have no clue!
There are so many topics that I want to share. I guess the current topics are System Engineering/Networking related. Some Space and Universe is also in it! Maybe a book review? Cats! Definitely Cats. Food? Everybody loves food. Japan! and much much more. For a little more Information, you can look at the About Me page.
I guess time will tell! In the mean time, have some cats!
